Trussardi
I love the patterns of the outfits in this window. The background reminds me of a violin and a checkerboard but it is very fitting for this window. I love how this window is cohesive and creative.

Etro
I love the color scheme of this window. This window features men and women's fashions. The three mannequins are dressed nicely in suits and dressy clothing. I love the use of the chair for the one mannequin. I like when window display designers use different heights and positions with the mannequins. I think this helps to showcase the clothing in different ways.
Etro is an Italian fashion house and they manufacture fabrics, furnishings, and fragrances. This company was founded in 1968 by Gimmo Etro. Their headquarters are in Milan.

Mariella Burani
This window display is very simple. Mariella Burani displays one outfit per window. This window needs something to make it pop like a theme to pull the windows together. I think this window is very boring.

Oysho
Oysho has such creative windows. This window reminds me of being in a cabin. They use neutrals to represent their products. I love the added touches of the log chair and pine cones. This is such a fun window. I do not like the curtains on either side or I might have liked them to be different colors. Maybe a neutral brown, a red, or a plaid to play into the cabin feel.

Ermenegildo Zegna
This is a very simple window. They just have the name of the company with two suit jackets. Ermenegildo Zegna is a great wool company but I think they needed to do more to their window. This window is classy but way too simple.
Ermenegildo Zegna is an Italian fashion house. It was founded in 1910 which is now managed by the fourth generation of the Zegna family. They are one of the biggest global producers of fine fabrics and have been active in promoting improvements in wool production around the world. Esprit
This window is very simple. It showcases some key outfits from Esprit's current line. I love that the background is red and the outfits are neutral. They stand out in this display. They use a photo to advertise their merchandise. I like the idea of using live photos and mannequins to feature merchandise.
Esprit was founded in 1968 in San Francisco. They have headquarters in Hong Kong and Germany. They have more than 770 retail stores and more than 15,000 wholesale stores. They have stores in more than 40 countries.

Valentino
This is a great window because Valentino showcases their print ads with their merchandise. The window is relatively plain but it speaks volumes for the store. The mannequin is simple with no frills it is strictly there to display the merchandise. I think this works for this store. I love the print ads, it adds a lot of substance to this otherwise very plain window.

Valentino was founded in 1959 by Valentino Garavani. Their headquarters are in Milan, Italy.

Dior
This window reminds me of being in a garden at night. The moon and the sculpted bushes make this a great display. Dior then takes it one step further by displaying their merchandise on mannequins. I love the outfits that were displayed in the window and the whole display is very well put together.

Bottega Veneta
I love this window because it is simple. Bettega Veneta has wooden slats behind their display. I like this display because you can see behind the mannequins into the store. I love a store where you can see the displays and the products in the store. Although, I am not a fan of the dresses on these mannequins but I love that the designer of this window display used gold accents to make this display pop out. I think this window could have used a little more to make it stand out.
(Photo from Bottega Veneta Website)
Bottega Veneta was founded in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro. It was purchased in 2001 by the Gucci Group. It is an Italian luxury goods house and best known for their leather goods. Salvatore Ferragamo
This is a simple window display. They use a large picture as their backdrop for the window display. This picture shows the story of the current season from Salvatore Ferragamo. They put a simple outfit on a mannequin in front of the picture with some accessories to display their products. I liked this window for the simplicity. When I went to Florence I was able to go into the Ferragamo museum. They were having a special exhibit of Greta Garbo instead of showing Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. It was a fantastic museum. I wish I could have seen it with the shoes but I did get to see a couple pairs that were once owned by Greta Garbo that were made by Salvatore Ferragamo. It was such an amazing experience.
(Picture from Salvatore Ferragamo Website)
Their current advertising campaign is called Back to Nature. This campaign was shot by Brice Weber. Ferragamo works with many Hollywood stars in the 1920's. Upon returning to Italy he founded the eponymous company where they made unique hand-made footwear.

Prada
This window screams class. I love everything about it right down to the way they partitioned the window from the rest of the store. I love that there is a little bit of a sexy side to this window.

Diesel
Diesel always has creative window displays. This one actually creeps me out a little bit with the masks. I love the aspect of the brick wall with the graffiti. The second one was taken while I was in Chicago last May. I fell in love with the colors and the giant elephant.
Diesel was founded by Renzo Rosso and Adriano Goldschmied in Molvena, Italy. They started the company in 1978. Their clothing is aimed at young adults. They are best known for their jeans. Diesel can be found worldwide.
Castro
I had never heard of this store before I visited Germany. I love the piece on the back of the back wall. The designers have turned pipe into an art piece. I love when visual merchandisers display mannequins in different positions. I think it is good to have the mannequins standing and sitting to display the merchandise. I think what drew me to this display first was the teased out hair.
Castro has been around for the past 50 years. This is Israel's leading fashion chain, which has 98 branches. Aaron Castro started this business in the 1950's.
Miu Miu
I love the backdrop behind the mannequin. The design of this display is simple and does not take away from the merchandise. The only thing I would change is the color of the backdrop. It does not go well with the merchandise. I also like that you can see into the store. I love being able to see the products for sale inside the store.
Miu Miu has stores worldwide. This store was from the Prada fashion house and opened in 1992. The name of this store is taken from Miuccia Prada’s nickname.
Coin
I love the traditional pictures with the trendy mens clothing in this window display. They took a traditional painting and made it modern by adding aspects like the tie on the head and the yellow sunglasses. I love that the mannequins heads are covered by these paintings. I have not visited Coin yet, but it is on my to do list while in Italy. I am very impressed by their windows and I am looking forward to exploring the rest of the store.

la Rinascente
I love how this display has mannequins, a background, and wire forms that look like skirts and flowers. The only suggestion I would make is for the mannequins to wear a little color. They don't exactly fit in with the backdrop.
la Rinascente was started in 1865 by the Bocconi brothers. This was the first time clothing was ready-to-wear. It was later transformed into Italy's most elegant department store. la Rinascente was formed in the 1950's to encourage new international cultural trends.
